Vrachtwagenheffing in Nederland vanaf 2026

Graag informeren wij u tijdig over relevante wijzigingen, zodat u voldoende gelegenheid heeft zich hierop voor te bereiden.
Op 1 juli 2026 wordt in Nederland de vrachtwagenheffing voor vrachtwagens ingevoerd. Deze maatregel kan leiden tot een stijging van de transportkosten tot 15%.
Deze nieuwe maatregel is bedoeld om de CO₂-uitstoot te verminderen en het wegennet eerlijker te belasten. Zo dragen ook buitenlandse vrachtwagens bij aan het onderhoud en gebruik van onze Nederlandse wegen. Hoe schoner en lichter het voertuig, hoe lager het bedrag per kilometer. De heffing geldt voor Nederlandse én buitenlandse voertuigen in de categorieën N2 en N3. Deze hebben een technische maximummassa van meer dan 3.500 kilo.
Eurovignet vervalt
Eerder is al aangegeven dat het Eurovignet per 1 juli 2026 vervalt. De motorrijtuigenbelasting voor vrachtwagens tot 12.000 kilo verdwijnt en voor vrachtwagens van 12.000 kilo en zwaarder wordt de motorrijtuigenbelasting lager.
OBU
Om de vrachtwagenheffing te betalen hebben eigenaren van vrachtwagens een tolkastje (OBU, on-board unit) nodig. Hiervoor moet een contract met een dienstaanbieder worden afgesloten.

Truck tolls in the Netherlands starting in 2026

We would like to inform you in advance about relevant changes so that you have ample opportunity to prepare for them.
On July 1, 2026, a truck toll will be introduced in the Netherlands. This measure could lead to an increase in transportation costs of up to 15%.
This new measure is intended to reduce CO₂ emissions and impose a fairer burden on the road network. In this way, foreign trucks will also contribute to the maintenance and use of our Dutch roads. The cleaner and lighter the vehicle, the lower the amount per kilometer. The toll applies to both Dutch and foreign vehicles in categories N2 and N3. These have a maximum technical mass of more than 3,500 kilograms.
Eurovignette to be phased out
It was previously announced that the Eurovignette will be phased out as of July 1, 2026. The motor vehicle tax for trucks up to 12,000 kilograms will be eliminated, and for trucks weighing 12,000 kilograms and heavier, the motor vehicle tax will be reduced.
OBU
To pay the truck toll, truck owners need a toll box (OBU, on-board unit). This requires signing a contract with a service provider.
